The Ensight Skills Center is a not-for-profit organization that provides visual rehabilitation. We are the only service of our kind in Colorado and the low vision community depends on us to help clients regain and preserve independence and quality of life. We are always excepting donations. If you are interested in donatining money or your time, please call.
Ensight Skills Center serves anyone having difficulty with activities of daily living related to visual impairment. Vision impairment has many causes. Some of the most common causes of visual loss are degenerative eye diseases like Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and Diabetic Retinopathy. In most cases, there are no medical treatments that will bring vision back. This is when visual rehabilitation services come into play. The idea of visual rehabilitation is to help people best utilize their remaining vision with the help of adaptive aids.
It is the mission of the Ensight Skills Center to provide clients with low vision and their families with adaptive techniques, training, support, tools, and products to maintain independent lifestyles and ensure safety in their home and workplace environments.

Ensight has many optical and non-optical low vision aids. See Ensight's Products page for more information. These aids are prescribed by a low vision trained Optometrist. Ensight's Optometrist focuses on evaluating a patient's remaining vision and determining which low vision aides will help them the most. Once low vision aids are prescribed, Occupational Therapists train patients on the proper use of these devices. This particular training station focuses on learning to use light and magnification to help with reading. Ensight also has a fully functional kitchen, so that we can help train the visually impaired with kitchen use and safety. Basic training can be done here, but training is also done in the patient's own home.
